The Medical Village is an outpatient care center of over 58,000 SF that enables f programs that focus on higher quality community wellness. The $32,000,000 project became a reality when the hospital was awarded a $25,500,000 NYS grant through the Capital Restructuring Financing Program.
This renovation was a two year, multi-phased project in the occupied hospital. Renovations included the psychiatric emergency department, mammography, DEXA, PFT, OR’s, PACU, pre-post operations, patient access, primary care, respiratory, women’s center, rehab and upgrades in the corridors and common spaces. Significant mechanical and electrical upgrades in the hospital included new air handling units, electrical infrastructure, emergency generator, etc..
A recent community needs assessment highlighted the importance of adding providers for primary care, behavioral health services and specialty medical services such as surgery in the county. The new, modern medical center is expected to attract significantly more specialized physicians.
